Don’t miss our facial treat of the month at Terrace Green Hotel’s Spa Secret!

Welcome to Terrace Green Hotel and Spa’s Ayurvedic Herbal Facial Ritual, the most favourite treat of our female guests!

These facials (aka mukha lepa) focus on balancing the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—using natural, plant-based ingredients.

The specific ingredients often depend on skin type, but several staples form the foundation of most traditional treatments.

Core Ingredients

Turmeric (Haridra): Renowned for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is used to brighten the complexion and manage acne.

Sandalwood (Chandana): A cooling agent ideal for soothing sensitive or irritated skin (Pitta balance). It also acts as a natural astringent.

Gram flour (Besan): Often used as the base for masks (uptans), it gently exfoliates and removes excess oil without stripping the skin of moisture.

Honey (Madhu): A natural humectant that draws moisture into the skin and provides a subtle antimicrobial effect.

Rose water (Gulab Jal): Used as a toner or a mixing medium for powders, it helps maintain the skin’s pH balance and offers a calming aroma.

Aloe vera (Kumari): Provides deep hydration and is frequently used to treat sunburn or redness.

Dosha ingredients

Hydration (Vata)

Ashwagandha, avocado oil, fresh milk or cream, and almond paste.

Soothing (Pitta)

Neem, saffron (kesar), mint, and rose petals.

Detoxifying (Kapha)

Triphala, lemon juice, and multani mitti (Fuller’s Earth).

To create an effective Ayurvedic facial, the process follows a traditional sequence: cleansing, massaging, and applying the lepa (mask).
